Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Trade and Logistics Specialist to join ABB System Drives in Aleksandrow Lodzki. You will be responsible for managing and streamlining transportation and trade flows by implementing optimization strategies that align with specific requirements.The position is perfect for you, if you have a customer-oriented mindset and skills to efficiently collaborate with various stakeholders. You will be working in close cooperation with ABB Local Sales Units globally, in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing demands and will need to pay attention to customer requirements while balancing transport requests with available transport options and communicating about service issues with shippers and receivers.The work model for the role is: #LiHybridYou will be mainly accountable for:• Communicating with transport service providers to place transport orders, receiving confirmations, providing custom instructions and monitoring important milestones• Creating customs instructions as well as communication with local authorities• Ensuring that carriers are monitored, and that customer service is provided to meet the needs of all dedicated businesses and specific local delivery needs• Calculating total transportation lead times and transport costs including justifying cost overruns when they occur• Understanding different planning techniques, including the functionality of transport management systems• Collecting local transport and customs knowledge as well as knowledge on relevant restrictions and regulations• Freight settlement and creating transport related documentation• Generating and providing cost and performance related reports

Qualifications for the role

B.Sc. degree and a background from a relevant field (commercial or technical)Capability to manage and prioritize multiple time sensitive tasksGood planning, problem solving and decision-making skillsAdvanced IT skills including with MS Office toolsGood team working skills and customer-oriented approach to workStrong written and verbal communications skills in EnglishKnowledge of trade and logistics rules and regulationsExperience in working with advanced TMS (Transport Management System) platforms is seen as an advantageExperience in transport management or freight forwarding is seen as an advantage
