Trade Payable Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Trade Payable Associate provides financial, administrative and clerical support by ensuring payments are initiated timely. This position will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders, data entry and assisting in the process of accounts payable by processing, verifying and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Researches and resolves invoice/payment inquiries or discrepancies, in a timely manner.Maintains current aging of invoices by reconciling a large number of vendor accounts and related transactions, and working with vendors/associates to resolve past due invoices and collect credits due to Company.Understands and interprets data, and provide clear and consistent guidance to other teams, as needed.Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.Maintains accurate and reliable documentation.Prepares analysis of account, as requested.ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required: High School DiplomaExperience: Two years of accounting experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirementsGeneral math skillsHigh degree of accuracy, attention to detail, judgement, and confidentialityExcellent data entry skillsExcellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skillsEffective organizational, stress and time management skillsDemonstrates a sense of urgency, follow-thru and ability to meet deadlinesSelf-starter with ability to work independently or as a team memberEffective verbal, listening and written communication skillsProfessional IntegrityProficiency in MS Excel and Outlook, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs.  AS400 experience a plus.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
