What is the team responsible for?A Trade Processing Specialist will take direction from the Trade Processing & Settlement Manager by performing trade processing, settlements, and daily portfolio accounting activities. The Trading Operations team supports the processing and settlement of Fixed Income and Equity transactions. An Associate will correspond and interact with Trading, Compliance, Client Service, and other internal teams at Brandywine Global; also correspond with executing brokers and client custodians. Participation in meetings directly related to Fund and Client accounts is expected.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Trade Processing & Settlements Specialist – Fixed Income & Equity?Oversee daily trade processing of Domestic Equity, International Equity, and Global Fixed Income securities, including Emerging Market Debt, Mortgage-Backed Securities and securities executed in countries with restricted currencies.
Monitor trade flow and matching processes using OneTIS and/or DTCC CTM.
Collaborate with Trading Desk to ensure proper FX handling of non-USD trades
Ensure the timely trade instruction of all trades to our global custodians.
Partner with FT Global Trade Services team to resolve related settlement issues and participate in OD and claims resolution when required.
Contribute to the maintenance, improvement and continuous refinement of all related processes and controls.
Perform necessary manual entries for new account or transition accounts.
Participate in audit preparation BCP Planning and DR Testing, which may include weekend or after hour remote access and participation.
Position requires flexibility in work schedule to allow for extended work hour coverage supporting an international client, custodial, and brokerage community.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?Bachelor’s degree.
Three to Five years’ experience in investment management or financial industry, preferably at a bank, brokerage firm or investment manager, in a position with similar responsibilities.
Computer literate including Microsoft Office and an aptitude to learn different systems/applications.
Excellent interpersonal communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving and judgement skills.
Commitment to task and to the team; ability to start and complete specific tasks with motivation and a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
Professional attitude and ability to work independently
Familiarity with Bloomberg’s AIM Trade Complete and FailStation, EAGLE Accounting syttem, Charles River Investment Management Solution, and CTM.
Familiar with the trade settlement process across domestic and international markets a plus.
Solid verbal and written English.
Rotation weekly: 12.00-8.30 pm / 2.30pm-11.00pm / 3.30pm – 12.00am
