Job Role Summary
We have an open need for a Trading Data and Analytics Product Owner (PO) to support Quantitative Analytics in the ExxonMobil Global Trading organization. The role sits under the Global Trading Enablement, Fusion and Systems team. The selected candidate will work closely with our Global Trading Organization, Commodity and Quantitative Analytics and Trading teams, leading the development of new products and enhancements of the existing ones. The PO is a liaison between the business customers (traders, originators) and delivery teams, who is responsible from the planning/management of the product roadmap while technically contributing to the analytics development/support. The role requires both technical and business skillset.
What You Will Do
• Serves as the intermediary between the Global Trading organization, IT delivery team, and data scientists/optimization engineers.
• Closely works with the trading organization to understand how analytics tools can improve their work efficiency and help with generation of the trading insights. Effectively communicates this to the IT delivery team and data scientists, ensures an alignment among the business teams and leads the product delivery.
• Speaks both in technical and financial languages for effective product delivery.
• Translates business requirements into data model, visualization, tool development plans for effective insight generation for traders and other stakeholders leveraging knowledge on data management (i.e. data collection, cleaning, and validation to ensure data integrity and fit-for-use), programming languages (i.e. Python, SQL for data analysis) and analytical tools (i.e. PowerBI).
• Analyzes business processes to identify and implement improvement opportunities, ensuring data integrity and fit-for-use, and leads user acceptance testing and training, while facilitating power user networks.
• Manages the product backlog and prioritizes work intake through SAFe Agile methodology, adapting to constant changes and requirements.
About You
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, computer science, or engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast-paced environment/multinational company
• Domain knowledge on energy markets (specifically oil, gas & power), including the dynamics of supply and demand, and regulatory environment is required. Knowledge on the commodity futures market and financial instruments is desired
• Previous quantitative analytics experience is desired
• Proficiency in the quant technical indicators, financial engineering/modeling, and statistical modeling to evaluate commodities based on historical data and market trends are plus
• Proficient in SQL and Python. Knowledge on Databricks, Dataiku, PowerBI and Snowflake are plus
• Has previous project, process management experience to support product delivery planning, development and sustainment via use of CI tools and leveraging analytics technologies (Snowflake, Python, SQL, Dataiku, Databricks, Azure, etc.)
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and hands on experience with visualization tools (Power BI)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in risk management skills to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with trading activities
• Experience in Trading, Oil & Gas
• Experience in operating and/or supporting robust and scalable big data platforms
• Practical working experience in utilizing and operating cloud services (preferably Azure).
• Knowledge on Machine Learning.
