Trading Assistant - LAKESIDE GRAIN TRADING, LLC - Chicago, IL

 

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Responsible for supporting Merchandising and Trading staff in the execution of grain contracts, tracking and reporting of trade activity, and related grain contract accounting.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Manage execution of grain contracts

 

Responsible for barge applications utilizing the appropriate platform

 

Manage grain contracts within the contract system, including contract entry, pricing, application, invoice/payment, and final settlement

 

Assist in coordination of grain logistics and dispatch, including rail & barge billing, ordering equipment in/out of the facility, and maintaining communication with service providers

 

Prepare the daily position, ensure accuracy, and distribute internally

 

Prepare the daily profit/loss report, ensure its accuracy, and distribute internally

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows company Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Perform all other related duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a college degree

 

Knowledge of grain merchandising

 

Proven professional communication, presentation, and customer service skills

 

Proven planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills

 

Must be available to work hours beyond those considered normal

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license to travel and be available for night meetings

 

Must have basic computer skills

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, leading others, and skill development.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Company policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position
