Summary 

The Trading Operations Analyst position supports both the Petroleum Coke (petcoke), and Sulfur teams by providing commercial and operational analysis in the Petcoke and Sulfur space. The Analyst is responsible for consolidating and analyzing commercial data, market data, performance metrics, etc. to inform the business and support effective tactical and strategic decision making.  

 

The position requires strong analytical and excellent communication skills, together with a strong understanding and proficiency in Excel. The applicant should be organized, self-motivated, team-oriented, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset. Problem solving, critical thinking skills, and personal resilience are required.  

 

Key Responsibilities  

Develops models and publishes commercially focused tools, dashboards and reports. 

Executes a variety of ad-hoc analytical work and presentations as required.  

Acquires and maintains external and internal information and resources to develop market intelligence. 

Computes and tracks performance metrics and conducts variance analysis to assess portfolio performance. 

Provides support to the team by identifying, evaluating, and modeling tactical and strategic opportunities.  

Identifies ways to streamline processes & optimize positions to reduce costs and/or improve profitability. 

Supports and tracks the Right Angle/deal confirmation process. 

Reviews invoices and BOLs for accuracy & coordinates closely with Accounting. 

Carries out financial modeling of long-term contracts and project development opportunities. 

Provides problem solving and analytical support for complex issues. 

Other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline required 

Three (3) or more years of relatable experience in Commercial, Risk, Trading Analytics, Scheduling, or Marketing required
