The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for the accurate preparation of all documents required to transport freight, and all pre-shipment and post-shipment shipment Distribution activities for both international and domestic shipments.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:00 am – 7:30 pm, overtime and weekends may be required.

This position is part of the Traffic Department located in Romeoville.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

 Accurately prepares all documentation required to transport shipments.Transportation Documents (domestic and international).Export and Hazardous Material Compliance documents.Order-specific documentation.Performs pre-shipment activities.Auditing Deliveries for Haz Class, Address, Forwarder, Ship Method, Freight Cost, etc.Confirming shipment “priority” is correct w/ order management and customer service prior to creating shipmentConduct pallet audit to assist w/ locating missing cartonsProvides carrier routing and hazardous material information.Interacts with customer service, carriers and freight forwarders.Performs post-shipment activities.Completes work assignments daily to ensure all customer orders ship on timeMeet/Exceed On-Time Delivery (OTD) / On-Time Ship (OTS) MetricsDeep dive to root cause of missed shipments assisting data analyst and leadership.Communicate carrier pickups daily to appropriate carrier following standard operating proceduresProvide carriers w/ manifest communication via emailFollow-up to confirm receipt of scheduled pickup communicationCoordinates return deliveries w /direct communication to carriers/forwarders, customer service and order managementMonitor departmental supplies and communicate with leadership immediately when replenishment is needed.Maintains MS Office PC programs used by domestic and international for all modes of transportation.Creates text and makes changes as required by Distribution Compliance.Interacts directly with Export and Distribution Compliance to maintain transportation database.

The essential requirements of the job include:

High School Diploma/GED required; Associate degree in an administrative or business discipline preferred.1 year or more experience of shipping required. Experience in working with Carriers, Import and Export Compliance, DOT regulations or similar distribution experience.Notary certificate or willing and able to be certified.Proficient with Microsoft Office Products: MS Word, Excel, Access. ERP experience preferred (i.e. Oracle, Pando)Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.  Bilingual language skills are a plus.

The work environment consists of an indoor, work or home office environment with good ventilation, adequate lighting, and low noise levels.

While performing the duties of this job in the warehouse, the employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures and workspace restrictions.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $24.25 - $24.25 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
