About being our Traffic Designer\/Engineer\n

Our Civil Engineering Team has an opportunity for a talented Traffic Designer\/Engineer in Long Beach, CA. As a Traffic Designer\/Engineer, under general direction, plans, organizes and supervises professional transportation and\/or traffic engineering work within an assigned group; interacts and coordinates with other departments, stakeholders and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.\n

Responsibility Highlights for our Traffic Designer\/Engineer\n\nCoordinates activities of assigned engineering and administrative staff at Psomas or a client agency\nDevelops the design of signing and striping, traffic control, traffic signal timing, traffic signal and intelligent transportation systems (ITS)\nPerforms or supervises the conduct of traffic and transportation research, analysis, planning, and studies\nPrepares or assist the preparation of project reports, plans, specifications, estimates, grant applications, progress reports, and other technical documents; supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff\nPrepares or assists in preparation of budget; makes presentations to elected commissions or councils, and community groups of an agency client\nResponds to inquiries and work requests by the public, and\/or agency Council and Commission offices\nPerforms other related duties as required by Psomas' agency client\nCommunicates effectively, both orally and in writing\n\n

Minimum Qualifications for our Traffic Designer\/Engineer\n\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline\nMinimum 3 years of experience in engineering and design with a focus on traffic engineering, roadway and\/or highway design, with skills to coordinate multi-disciplined engineering projects\nTechnical knowledge in traffic engineering with experience in preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, and computations\nFamiliarity with local design and procedures, regulatory compliance and agency coordination\nUnderstanding of schedule, budget, and scope of services\nA team player in a collaborative environment\n\n
