In the role of Traffic Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:Work as part of a traffic team under the direction of the Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projectsConduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro simulation models; analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segmentsFocus on traffic design, including accident analysis and mitigation strategies, signing, striping, traffic signals, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS), including real-time traffic information, adaptive signal control, closed circuit television (CCTV), and variable message signs (VMS)Work on transportation projects and other related projects associated with electrical power and perform routine electrical engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected results. The HDR projects throughout Florida require design and delivery of contract plans. Work on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs or Technicians as needed.Perform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineeringExperience and or knowledge of the National Electrical Codes (NEC).Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 2 yearsCandidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progressionComputer skills using Microsoft Office, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, AutoCAD and MicroStationDesire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration.Previous experience with an engineering consulting firmPreference given to local candidatesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degreeStrong verbal and written skillsConduct traffic design using CAD platformsincluding MicroStation, autoCad and Guide Sign softwareConduct operational analysisusing a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties,including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM and AimsunConduct safety analysis using a variety of  safety software tolls including Highway SafetySoftware
Ability to multitask while working on many projects at onceAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
