TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2422000 and is part of the KS 184 Intelligence Wing, National Guard. Responsibilities As a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2130-09, you will serve as a Distribution Traffic Management Specialist, which provides technical expertise, support and execution relating to the movement of equipment, supplies, and personnel for both peacetime and wartime. Manages, directs, develops, plans, and analyzes Deployment and Distribution programs. This position is located in the Distribution Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Mission Support Group, at an ANG Aviation Wing. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-1 through E5 Compatible Military Assignments: 2T051 Must be willing and able to cross train into the compatible AFSC GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of and understanding of administrative, professional, analytical, or other work relating to traffic or transportation programs or operations. Skilled in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-7). Specialized experience that provided a have knowledge of industry practices and procedures and the established regulations, requirements, and techniques related to a transportation functional program. Knowledge that can be used to perform independent work involving specified segments of large projects or well-defined projects of lesser scope that require standardized traffic management methods and procedures. Skill in analyzing and interpreting technical transportation requirements and guidelines to perform a variety of assignments for which there are general precedents. Work Environment: Work is generally performed in an office or similar setting, which involves minimal risk or discomfort and requires normal safety precautions. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The incumbent performs the bulk of the work in an office environment and so observes normal safety precautions. Physical Effort: Work is primarily sedentary, although some physical effort is required when walking, standing, bending, or carrying light items. Occasionally lifts moderately heavy items, this would not be on a regular and recurring basis.
