As a Traffic Services Manager, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Based in Pompano Beach, FL. Job Responsibilities for the Traffic Services Manager: * Conduct detailed traffic operations studies and capacity analyses to identify and correct capacity deficiencies on Turnpike System using industry standard traffic engineering methods and software. * Prepare incidental in-house design plans for traffic operations/safety improvements, if requested. * Conduct a traffic engineering investigation of every fatal crash occurring on the Turnpike System, including recommendation of any needed remedial measures. * Review crash report compilations on a continual basis and issue an annual Fatal Crash Report documenting trends, problems, and possible countermeasures. * Review High Crash Lists to identify and investigate specific locations for engineering or enforcement issues. Conduct parking and traffic circulation studies for facilities within the Turnpike including service plazas, toll plazas, office buildings, etc. * Prepare before- and after- studies to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvement projects. * Review, coordinate, and monitor planned lane closure requests to ensure they satisfy the Turnpike's Lane Closure Policy. Work with the Turnpike’s Lane Closure Approval application to transmit concurrence or denial. * Conduct investigations for all public complaints related to Traffic Operations and maintain a Public Complaint Log, including timely customer response on behalf of the Traffic Operations unit. * Participate in the Department’s statewide District Safety Engineer and Community Traffic Safety Team meetings and programs. * Supervise and provide mentoring to other Traffic Engineering Specialist staff, directing their work and assuring the quality of their work products. Plans Review: * Review and comment on all phases of design and operations improvement projects. * Review and comment on plans prepared by non-Turnpike entities with careful attention to access management, Traffic Control, signing/pavement markings and safety issues. * Attend all meetings related to plans review traffic operational Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we’ll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world’s most challenging Operations Management projects, together. #OMFS #BIA #OurJacobs #BoldlyMovingForward #ChallengeAccepted * Successful applicants shall hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with at least 4 years of experience in the traffic engineering field and hold an E.I. license. * Applicants shall have experience and understanding of Microsoft Office tools, Micro Station and Synchro software packages. * Applicants shall have excellent technical writing, analytical, and verbal communications skills, which may include presentations to internal and external stakeholders. * Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions Ideally, You'll Also Have: * Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida preferred * Knowledge of Department project development process including funding, design and Construction Engineering / Inspection (CEI) functions; preferred * Skills in the use of computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentations applications, e-mail and internet. * Skills in traffic engineering studies and analysis, guidelines and standards * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. * Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals.
