Job Description

Join AECOM as a Traffic Signal Engineer and play a pivotal role in optimizing traffic management systems. You’ll conduct traffic signal analysis, coordinate with the Traffic Management Center (TMC), and ensure compliance with standards. Be part of our Atlanta Traffic and ITS team dedicated to improving traffic flow and safety in our communities.  This is a hybrid work option position. 

Responsibilities:

Review traffic control device and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) plans for compliance with standardsOversee and manage traffic control device improvement projectsComplete traffic signal and timing plansConduct signalized intersection analysisDocument and administer traffic signal plans and permitsProvide technical assistance to city staff and project managersMaintain knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, codes, and regulationsResearch and prepare technical reports and correspondenceCoordinate with other public works units and agenciesRespond to traffic signal concerns from city management and constituents

Qualifications

​Minimum:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Traffic engineering or related field and four (4) years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

 

Preferred:

Professional Engineer’s LicenseCertifications in Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)IMSA Traffic Signal Construction Technician II or equivalentValid US driver’s license to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment must pass a motor vehicle records review
