We are actively seeking a skilled Traffic Staff Engineer II to join our dedicated team in Lehigh Valley, PA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects, contribute to transportation solutions, and grow your expertise in traffic engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design of traffic signals, traffic signal corridors, and intersection improvements for traffic engineering projects
· Prepare Roadway and Traffic Signal Construction Plans
· Prepare Signing and Pavement Marking Plans
· Prepare Traffic Control Plans
· Prepare Right-of-Way Plans
· Coordinate with project managers as needed and mentor less-experienced traffic staff
Transportation related to Municipal Services:· Preparation of traffic studies to evaluate traffic safety or operation concerns at intersections or corridors
· Design and permit corridor traffic signal improvements
· Design intersection improvement projects and streetscape / sidewalk projects, including preparation and submission of PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permits
· Review Transportation Impact Studies, Highway Occupancy Permits, and site circulation plans related to land development
Transportation related to Land Development Services:· Prepare Transportation Impact Studies and Scoping Applications; coordinate with PennDOT, County and Municipality for approval
· Prepare PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permits and Traffic Signal Permits in support of new development
· Prepare local Trip Generation Studies
· Coordinate with project managers as needed and mentor less-experienced traffic staff
RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a transportation/highway/traffic emphasis preferredE.I.T. certification or Pennsylvania PE license (or ability to secure through reciprocity within 6 months)2+ years of project experience in the traffic engineering field, including:
o Traffic signalization
o Traffic studies and analyses
o Intersection improvements
o Parking facilities design
o Highway design
o Roadway safety design
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Working familiarity of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation Experience with traffic software, such as HCS, or Synchro (preferred)Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and regional offices as necessary (Valid U.S. driver’s license is required)Legal right to work in the U.S.Life at HRG
