So, even if you feel that you’re close but not an exact match, we encourage you to apply. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Trainee Claims Handler to join our claims team. In this role, you will support the claims process from start to finish, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients. You will work under supervision, gaining valuable experience, training and knowledge in claims handling. How you'll make an impact Provide empathetic support to clients, managing their expectations regarding the claims process and timelines Maintain and update all relevant Line of Business systems, ensuring data accuracy at all times Assist the claims team with administrative tasks throughout the claims handling cycle Manage claims from receipt to conclusion under supervision, adhering to authority levels Request necessary documentation from clients, including completed claim forms, in compliance with FCA protocols and other regulatory requirements Arrange appointments for loss adjusters or suppliers as needed Forward relevant documents to clients, notify insurers, and document actions accordingly Collaborate with senior claims colleagues to address any issues, queries, or concerns Ensure timely follow-up on payments, where applicable Organise and maintain inward/outward correspondence in the correct order for each file Process claims notifications and further advices in line with retail claims SOPs Regularly review claim statuses with clients and insurers, providing updates and ensuring all parties are informed of progress Monitor collections from insurers, ensuring payments are received/made in accordance with agreed SLAs, in collaboration with Finance Keep clients and insurers informed of all events and discussions during the claims process to ensure complete client satisfaction Develop strong working relationships with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders to promote customer satisfaction Comply with Gallagher Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for role with specific attention to Treating Customers Fairly and Consumer Duty Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business About You Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent Good interpersonal skills, including effective listening, verbal, and written communication Ability to identify potential problems and seek advice and support when required Capable of working with highly confidential information Proactive approach and problem-solving skills Proficiency in MS Office Eligible to work in the UK #LI-PH1 Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
