Trainee Insurance Administrator – Marsh Captives - St Peter Port, Guernsey
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain broad experience across both insurance and accounting disciplines within an international insurance management environment.
The role provides exposure to client servicing, insurance administration, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be supported in pursuing a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or Chartered/Certified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)), with the potential to develop into a qualified insurance or finance professional.
This role is ideal for a recent A-Level (or equivalent) / school leaver or Graduate eager to launch their career, or for someone with prior experience in administration or finance support seeking to join a well-established, market-leading Captive Manager.
We will rely on you to:
Insurance Administration:
Assist in the day-to-day administration of captive insurance companies and protected cell companies.
Prepare and process policy documentation, endorsements, and bordereaux.
Monitor premium collections and claims payments.
Support the preparation of regulatory and board reporting.
Liaise with clients, brokers, reinsurers, and other counterparties.
Accounting & Finance:
Process payments/receipts
Maintain and reconcile bank account statements, monitor cash balances and deposits
Assist with company secretarial duties; assist with preparation of board papers and taking/writing draft minutes
Assist with annual audits
Assist with regulator filings and returns
What you need to have:
A-Level or equivalent education required; a university degree would be an advantage but is not essential.
Willingness to study towards a relevant professional qualification (ACII / ACA / ACCA). Full study support will be provided.
High level of accuracy and consistency.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications especially Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
