Trainee Junior Broker - Commercial Risk

About Commercial Risk We assist clients with their insurance buying decisions, aiming to optimize the balance of risk transfer and retention financing through valuation and analysis. Responsibilities + As a trainee Commercial Risk broker, you will support the team as they help clients with their insurance buying decisions, aiming to optimize the balance of risk transfer and retention financing through valuation and analysis. + Assist in achieving business objectives within a team environment through assigned research, policy and project activities allocated during developmental work placements. + Develop and maintain effective and productive working relationships with appropriate external client contacts and other internal Aon clients. + Effectively participate in on-the-job and other learning and development activities provided throughout the development programme. + Pitching and storytelling – potential to communicate to stakeholders in a compelling way. Activities + Offers collection and preparing of summary tables for analysis + Preparing of renewal reports and presentation for client + Base analysis of claims (in Excel) and preparing of the report + Detailed analysis of claims (in Excel) and preparing of the report + Population of GI system + Help with translation for colleagues without English How this opportunity is different Our graduates experience the full lifecycle of our business — from trading risk in the market and understanding the importance of claims through to winning new business. You’ll build relationships with a broad spectrum of people — including clients, our own industry specialists and members of the global insurance and reinsurance markets. You’ll gain exposure to both technical and client-facing roles — this will help you to understand the specialist advice our clients rely on, and how we share it with them. We offer the opportunity to work with a variety of roles Motor or Property insurance broking, property claims handing, client management and specialist project roles in marketing, site management, etc. Start date – ASAP Your Development As a new employee you will be invited to an initial induction on day one and to some initial role related training within a few weeks of your start date. As an Aon Graduate, you will be enrolled onto our 10-month Launch Programme, which starts in Sept 2025. This development programme is built around three core elements: + Business learning – on the job learning and experiences giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of the team and solution line you have joined. + Technical training – we will guild you on the basic principles of our industry via some initial training on what we do and how we do it. + Centralised learning - graduates complete in an Aon Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops; all designed to help you develop your knowledge of Aon, build your confidence and your network across our business. Skills and experience that will lead to success + Good Power Point and Excel skills – to effectively analyse data and provide visual representation of the results + High attention to details, accuracy and time management – we often work on simultaneous projects at once + Team working abilities and multitasking – to efficiently collaborate with and support colleagues in time of need and balance various tasks and projects at the same time + Preference for undergraduates is Finance, Management, Economics, Insurance, Engineering, Banking and/or Marketing subject areas, but we will consider students of any subject area. + (We will also consider candidates where their studies in Ukraine were interrupted.) + Fluent/Native in Ukrainian and understanding Ukrainian culture + Business English – ideally C1 (‘Proficient User’) Level of CEFR (https://www.coe.int/en/web/common-european-framework-reference-languages/table-1-cefr-3.3-common-reference-levels-global-scale) . + Working knowledge of Slovak + Ability to be initially based in Bratislava, Slovakia, and, when safe to do so, in our Kiev office in Ukraine. + Applications from displaced Ukrainian nationals are welcomed.
