Job Title: Training and Education Supervisor

General Functions:
This Training and Education Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the performance of instructors working with external learners (participants), while also leading internal training and quality improvement initiatives across workforce development services. The Training and Education Supervisor supports both instructional staff and workforce service teams through monitoring, coaching, and the implementation of best practices. The Training and Education Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining service excellence and alignment with workforce development goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, and support instructors delivering training to external learners (participants).Provide leadership by inspiring, guiding and motivating team and colleagues.Create an environment that fosters employee engagement and satisfaction.Identify training needs, provide opportunities for learning and growth, and support the professional development of team members.Evaluate performance of team members to include providing feedback, coaching, mentoring and conducting performance appraisals.Perform quality monitoring and program review activities across instructional and workforce development services, including file reviews and compliance checks to ensure alignment with grant rules and department regulations.Analyze findings from internal reviews and stakeholder feedback to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.Design and deliver internal training sessions for both instructional and workforce development staff, ensuring alignment with department procedures, grant requirements, and organizational goals.Collaborate with department leadership to align training and services with industry standards and participant needs.Develop and maintain documentation for program review processes, training activities, and staff development outcomes.Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.Assist the department director with planning and implementing new strategies and innovative projects.Job Specifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Human Services, Human Resource Management, Social Work, Vocational Education, or a closely related field of study. Relevant work experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.One year of supervisory experience.Two (2) years’ experience in a tribal organization providing social services.Continued employment is contingent upon a report from a state and federal background check.Valid Alaska driver’s license and insurable under CITC’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver’s license for at least three years.

May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and consistently working on a computer with repetitive motion.The need to occasionally move around the office to access filing cabinets, storage cabinets, and office equipment may be necessary.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally by utilizing proper lifting techniques and working in a safe manner.
