Summary About the Position: This position is a TERM Not to 13 months position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. Federal employees in Duty Location are currently entitled to receive a 8.64% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. Responsibilities Responsible for all matters pertaining to Training and Future Operations – coordinating training resource allocation, training guidance, training and contingency plans and exercises. Is delegated authority to develop, implement, and execute training resource allocation. Assist in the development, coordination, and periodic execution of validation exercises (VALEX) for the Army Pacific Response Forces (APRF), Expeditionary Deployment Readiness Exercises (EDRE), and other readiness exercises. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) dealing with organization operations, planning, training, and exercise design and execution; 2.) developing Operation Orders (OPORDS) for publication; 3.) creating Division level training guidance, directives, and policies; AND 4.) conduct planning for Division level training and exercises. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. As such, the employee of this position is subject to assignment anywhere in the world in support of various contingency operations, whether domestic (Defense Support to Civil Authorities) or overseas in support of the 25th ID & USARHAW and/or USARPAC/TJFLCC's mission and must complete and sign DD Form 2365 (DoD Civilian Employee Overseas Emergency Essential Position Agreement). Failure to deploy when designated for a contingency assignment may result in separation from Federal service. TERM Appointment with option for conversion. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
