This role focuses on collaborating with industry partners, developing industry-based credential (IBC) programs, and ensuring that students receive the training necessary to meet the demands of the evolving construction/Craft Skills workforce. The specialist will work closely with the Dean of Technical Education to align programs with the college’s academic and workforce goals. **40% Management and Partnership Development:** + Establish partnerships with Construction/Craft Skills companies, government agencies, and community organizations to create pipelines for internships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities. + Serve as the liaison between BRCC and local/regional employers to facilitate workforce development initiatives. + Design and coordinate Construction/Craft Skills-related training programs, focusing on current industry trends and workforce demands. + Collaborate with the Dean of Technical Education to develop and update curriculum aligned with industry standards and emerging technologies. + Develop and maintain relationships with Construction/Craft Skills industry stakeholders to ensure the relevance of training programs. + Implement and promote industry-recognized credentialing programs in areas such as commercial driving, logistics, and fleet management. + Oversee the certification process and ensure that programs meet state and federal standards for Construction/Craft Skills training. + Ensure all students are prepared for industry certification exams and monitor success rates. **30% Student Recruitment and Support** + Advise students on career pathways in the Construction/Craft Skills industry, including certification requirements and potential career opportunities. + Work with faculty to develop and update instructional materials, resources, and equipment aligned with industry standards. + Provide professional development opportunities for faculty in the Construction/Craft Skills field. + Develop marketing strategies to recruit students into Construction/Craft Skills programs, including attending job fairs, hosting informational sessions, and leveraging digital marketing tools. + Represent BRCC at Construction/Craft Skills industry events and community forums to increase visibility and engagement with key stakeholders. **25% Funding** + Work with the Dean to generate revenue and manage the budget. + Identify and pursue grants or other funding opportunities to support Construction/Craft Skills workforce development initiatives. + Prepare grant proposals and manage awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements. + Collect and analyze data related to program enrollment, student performance, certification pass rates, and job placement. + Provide regular reports to the Dean of Technical Education on the effectiveness of Construction/Craft Skills programs and initiatives. **5% Other duties as assigned** Benefits for unclassified employees are determined by the individual hiring authority.
