Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) manages one of the most challenging radioactive waste cleanup projects in the country. The Training Compliance Manager reports to the TOC Training Manager and is responsible for ensuring training programs, plans, processes, procedures and personnel are compliant and effective in alignment with Department of Energy (DOE) O 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, Qualification, and Certification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities and DOE-STD-1070-94, Criteria for the Evaluation of Nuclear Facility Training Programs. This responsibility includes the implementation of procedures and plans as well as the assessments and surveillances that verify compliance and effectiveness are performed.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensures compliance with DOE O 426.2 through a Training Implementation Matrix (TIM) or training program descriptions (TPDs) or plans (TPPs)
* Ensures the implementing mechanisms of the TIM (e.g., procedures, training program descriptions (TPDs), plans (TPPs)) are written and maintained in a manner that effectively results in worker performance leading to the safe operation of the nuclear facility as well as workers, general public and environment
* Ensures training and qualification programs have been established and maintained utilizing the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process for operations, maintenance and technical staff resulting in competence commensurate with responsibility
* Ensures routine and periodic assessments and surveillances evaluating the training program in accordance with DOE-STD-1070-94 are performed and documented
* Ensures key performance indicators and metrics are initiated and maintained
* Supports the TOC Safety Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
* Hiring and disciplinary action except for that performed by the TOC Training Manager
* Inspiring and motivating team members to achieve goals, creating a positive work environment, and setting a clear vision for the team
* Establishing clear objectives, setting performance metrics, and defining strategies to reach desired outcomes
* Assigning tasks supporting program compliance with DOE O 426.2 and DOE-STD-1070-94 appropriately based on individual strengths, empowering team members to take ownership
* Evaluating employee performance against set goals, providing feedback, identifying areas for improvement, and recognizing achievements
* Pursues continuous improvement by incorporating employee feedback, industry operating experience and lessons learned
* Analyzing information, weighing options, and making timely decisions that align with the organizational strategy and philosophy
Please Note: This position is being advertised under the current Tank Operations Contractor, Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS). However, now that transition activities have begun a candidate selected for employment may be hired under the incoming contractor, Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) contract. Further details will be provided during the hiring process.
Required Qualifications
Grade 20:
BA/BS degree in Education or related discipline with ten (10) years related experience or combination of education and experience
Supervisory or management experience
Grade 21:
BA/BS degree in Education or related discipline with twelve (12) years related experience or combination of education and experience
Supervisory or management experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 22:
BA/BS degree in Education or related discipline with fifteen (15) years related experience or combination of education and experience
Supervisory or management experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in instructional analysis, design, development, delivery and testing as well as evaluation of training programs
Nuclear industry experience

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $129,063
Hiring Range Maximum: $209,688
