Responsibilities

This position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc.

 

Summary:

The Training Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of training and onboarding new/temporary employees in various positions such as Packaging Associate, Operator Associate, and Operator Specialist positions. The objective is to complete standardized training using a flexible timeframe to match each individual’s learning pace while ensuring training progress is achieved, and to accomplish all training safely and effectively. 

 

The Training Coordinator works directly with Team Leaders and Supervisors to coordinate training activities, and while the Training Coordinator regularly works with trainees, the coordinator does not direct their assignments.  The training coordinator meets regularly with the Operations Manager and Human Resources to assist with training requirements to meet business needs.  The Training Coordinator guides all trainees in safe, quality work. 

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Bilingual preferred- Proficient in the English and Spanish languages (read, write, talk).Must be flexible with work schedule, including the ability to work all shifts as neededResponsible for updating, maintaining, and implementing to appropriate trainers, training documentation with input from Operations leadership. Fully understand (signed off) the core functions of all positions.Work directly with Team Leaders and Supervisors to coordinate training activities, and while the Training Coordinator regularly works with trainees, the coordinator does not direct their assignments. Meet regularly with the Operations Manager and Human Resources to assist with training requirements to meet business needs. Responsible for guiding all trainees in safe, quality work.Prepare training packets, distribute, and collect when necessary.Maintain training matrix for all departments.Assist with the timely completion of reviews/assessments.Monitor training performance to schedule. Track an employee’s development and work with management if an employee is not meeting expectations, so additional training may be provided.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc)Capable of communicating in front of large groups and interacting with peers and site leaders.Reliable/Dependable as it relates to completing work assignmentsProven experience in effectively coaching peers. Willingness to coach leaders.Previous experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environmentMust have an acceptable work and attendance record:Have not received a Step 2 disciplinary action in the last 12 monthsNo more than 5 absences (incidents) in the past 12-month rolling period

Physical Requirements/ Environmental/ Working Conditions:

Must be able to constantly stand, walk, use hands, and arms Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 70 pounds Frequently required pushing or pulling items using force up to 95 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb 10-40 steps and occasionally climb 5-10 ladder rungs. Able to work in differing temperatures. Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required.
