Training & Development Communications Intern

During your internship, you will support the creation and delivery of an internal training and development course while also driving communications initiatives within the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to make and share engaging training materials, plan and host learning sessions, and ensure consistent, impactful communication throughout the company. In this role, you will also get hands-on experience making presentations, organizing events, and using feedback to refine and enhance our internal programs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about communication strategies, course development, and project coordination in a dynamic and tech-savvy environment.  

Role Description: 

You will be joining the Tech function in a medium sized young and growing team working to democratize low-code and no-code tools within the organization by training on and providing tools. We are a multicultural team with a hybrid working structure. We meet once a week in the Amsterdam, Amersfoort, and Rotterdam Arcadis offices. We are happy to teach if you are eager to learn. Within this role, you are expected to: 

 

Develop and Manage Training Content: Assist in the creation, review, and organization of training materials for a learning course, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with company objectives. Collaborate with subject matter experts to refine content and incorporate feedback from participants.   Coordinate Training Sessions and Events: Schedule workshops, presentations, and other training-related events, identifying and coordinating with speakers, facilitators, and participants.   Communication and Engagement: Draft and disseminate internal communications (emails, newsletters, intranet updates, etc.) to promote training events, share updates, and highlight key achievements or opportunities. Develop engaging content (e.g., short videos, visual aids, quizzes) to spark interest and participation in training programs.   Presentations and Facilitation: Prepare and deliver presentations to diverse groups, ensuring technical or complex information is conveyed in a clear, compelling manner. Support virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, and communities of practice with moderation, Q&A coordination, and gathering participant feedback.   Feedback and Insights: Collect and analyze feedback from surveys, forms, and direct conversations with participants to identify areas for improvement. Compile data into clear, actionable reports for leadership and stakeholders to shape the ongoing operational strategy.  

 

Qualifications: 

Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelor's or master's (preferred) degree in human resources, communications, education, business administration, or a related field.   Work experience: 0-2 years of experience in learning and development, change management, communications, or a related field.  Interest in Technology and Learning: Curiosity for tech, digital tools, and how they can be leveraged to improve performance.   Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to tailor messages to different audiences and channels.   Software Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with design tools (Photoshop, Canva) and/or low-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform) is a plus.
