Responsibilities

As a Training Educator, this position will facilitate classroom training and development programs for Coding and Medicare Risk Adjustment.

Review EMR and reports for education prioritaztionTravel throughout local markets to meet and education providersAudit EMR documentation to identify providers's areas of improvement and opportunitiesStay abreast of annual coding updates and inforproate into trainingEvaluate departments and services in an effort to define best practices and encourage positive and progressive change.Remain current on healthcare trends and advances.Define financial, operational, and clinical data necessary for evaluating change initiatives.Identify steps, tools, and training necessary to implement a process or structural change.Oversee functioning of assigned projects/project teams and for collaborating with executive leadership to access necessary resources.Manage resources, process and quality assurance of projects within scope of responsibility.Develop and update the ongoing management plan.Monitor and ensure that detailed project plans, reporting mechanisms, issue resolution processes, and communications are timely and meet quality guidelines.
Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Certification specializing in Lean Healthcare Mgmt preferred.. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performedProject Mgmt Professional preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performedRegistered Nurse preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences Requires a Coding Certification, will accept one of the following from AAPC and/or AHIMA:  Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient (CDEO), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) 3-5 years Medical Coding experience with at least 2 years specific to Medicare Risk Adjustment/HCC CodingExperience with educating/training/delivering feedback to medical providers strongly preferred
