Training & Employment Coordinator - North/Eastern PA Summary Purpose for the Position: Serve as lead and coordinate all Training and Employment activities. To develop and maintain employment and training opportunities for program clients and to assist and support clients in utilizing those opportunities. This position operates within a work team which is charged with delivery of client services including employment, retention, training, emergency, support, advocacy, and referral services. Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill): Position requires knowledge, experience, and proficiency, demonstrated through up to four years of work experience in the area of job training and employment, and/or marketing, with specific emphasis on the issues of migrant farmworkers. Position requires basic knowledge of computers and record keeping. Position Responsibilities: Screen participants to inform and clarify their program goals and objectives. Review and monitor development of written individual client employability Plan. Ensure participant’s eligibility prior to T & E enrollment. Collaborate with agency representatives, community groups, and area employers to determine employment trends and conduct quarterly Labor Market Analysis. Establish employment referral network including job bank. Review and coordinate completeness of all enrollment and termination paperwork for T & E participants. Review monthly MIS reports for accuracy. Market training programs and develop placement opportunities for job ready participants. Provide direct assistance to eligible program participants within ten days of enrollment into T & E programs. Provide outreach and recruitment through the implementation of local outreach strategy. Develop and coordinate CRT workshops and activities linking participants to employment. Identify and develop Academic/Occupational Skills training. Develop and conduct Job Readiness training. Draft training outline and contracts for approval. Coordinate and develop training for T & E staff as well as for participants. Working Conditions/Environment: Includes flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends Extensive travel Frequent exposure to different hazardous environments and/or individuals at a high risk of being infected with serious illness (such as HIV, Hepatitis, or TB).
