We are looking for a Training Facility Manager and Instructor for our newly established NACOS (Navigation, Automation & Control System) Platinum simulator and training system in Drammen, Norway. Join our driven Navy Navigation team, working for a better future.
What you will be doing
In the role of Training Facility Manager, you will maintain the newly built Navy Navigation Simulator and training facility in Drammen. You are responsible for setting up and maintaining training facilities, scenarios and ensuring that training materials are available and in good condition. You also have technical responsibility for keeping the training facility updated.
An important part of your work is to create and update documentation and user manuals, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and accessible to users. Your role includes being an instructor for the end customer, where you set up the course offerings within the project, prepare course materials, and agree with the customer on the course content. You conduct courses and issue certificates, as well as being responsible for user training and coordinating training efforts. You do not need to conduct all courses yourself, but you ensure that they are carried out.
You will have a lot of contact with end customers to ensure their needs and requirements are met and support them with user documentation and user training. In addition to this, you will participate in other project work, including ILS work and documentation.
For us to be the best match, we expect you to have experience from the marine segment and preferably from working with NACOS. As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience from sailing as a navigator, and you find pleasure in teaching others. For you to succeed in the position, we hope you to be a team player with situational and cultural sensitivity. You have high work ethics, a good business and customer focus and you are committed to delivering results and taking action.
As a Training Facility Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
Actively take part in the day-to-day training activities/delivery for our NACOS Platinum product including Cyber security related training. The training will need to cover how to operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain the system. That requires you to truly familiarize with the features, functions, and limitations of each system application, e.g. radar, ECDIS Develop/ evaluate/ improve training programs and materials as well as new concepts. Develop tailored training programs combining theoretical and practical methods, among this also tests / quizzes to evaluate the skills obtained by trainees and which can be basic for a participation certificate. Continue to develop your personal competence and skills to train different user groups, as internal stakeholders, yard and crew. Support the sales, planning and execution of training activities for customers and own personnel according to budgeted targets. Develop / Administer / Implement and maintain technical training area/equipment and assessments Provide technical support for internal and external customers
You will shine in this role, when you have:
Bachelor of Science in a relevant specialization. Around 5 years of working experience in the marine segment. If you have been sailing as a navigator, that would indeed be preferred. Ability to obtain security clearance according to Norwegian National Security Authority regulations. Keen to teach others and have very good communication skills. Network knowledge. Cyber security knowledge. Proficiency in Microsoft 360 (Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and any other tool, which eases education. Good interpersonal skills, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Desire to work in a multicultural environment.
In this role, some travel may be required to meet with our customers around the world.
