We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Training Instructor position!
Here is some of what you’ll do…
POSITION SUMMARY:
With minimal supervision provides a comprehensive learning and development program for technical employees that enhances knowledge, skills, and productivity. Develops, designs, organizes, implements and conducts training programs. Champions a continuous improvement learning environment. Will also provide technical, operation and maintenance training for customers as directed by management.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conduct technical training to include but not limited to applied electrical, engines/powertrain, hydraulics and applied failure analysis.Assists with creating a skills database and tracking training progress.Helps coordinate the TCDP (Technician Career Development Plan).Helps coordinate skills inventories for employees to identify training gaps (TCDP and HTCP).Designs curricula, class materials and facilitates classes according to the skills inventory results and requests by management.Works with key company personnel in developing class schedules.Attends necessary classes to become proficient within his/her learning plan.Keeps informed with new products and conducts NPI courses.Coordinates alternative training delivery methods such as: computer based training programs, web deliverable training programs and distance learning programs for companywide learning programs.Provides customer training as required.Conducts safety training as required such as lock out tag out.Performs other duties as assigned as necessary to meet the company, department or individual goals and objectives. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must have Associates Degree (AA/AS) or equivalent.Must have proven written and oral communication skills.Must have proven presentation skills with the ability to answer questions to Management, staff, employees or customers.Must have strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.Must be flexible and have a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team handling multiple projects and meet demanding deadlines.May be required to travel.Must have a valid CA Driver’s License, with a clean driving record.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain.Hands/arms operating equipment, hand and power tools. Lifting: Up to 50 lbs. daily, frequent exertion. Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools.Handling: Works with hands. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any directionStanding: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the jobClimbing: In and out of equipment.Vision: Reads computer screens, work tickets, parts and service books and may operate heavy equipment.Talking: Communicates via telecommunications and in person.Sitting: Sits in equipment and vehicles. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waistHearing: Hears well enough to discern mechanical problems for safety in and around shop and construction sites and to receive communication via telecommunications and in person. Laying: Lies in prone position under vehicles and equipment.ENVIRONMENTAL:
