TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

Summary You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the MARINER SKILLS TRAINING CENTER PACIFIC (MSTCPAC) of SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL. Responsibilities You will be responsible for instructing students in Navigation, Seamanship, Shiphandling, Bridge Resource Management, RADAR Fundamentals, and Automated RADAR Plotting Aids. You will provide classroom, laboratory, and competency assessment to students and staff. You will assist in developing training material for applicable courses. You will develop, build, and integrate instructional tools throughout the learning environment and evaluate performance. You will assemble and analyze course reviews using information from student critiques, instructor evaluations, and training monitors. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing instruction or training to students/personnel on navigation, seamanship and ship handling principles; 2) Developing curriculum to support instruction on navigation, seamanship and ship handling principles; 3) Utilizing simulators and other computer-based ship handling training systems to provide instruction for students; 4) Assessing competency of student/personnel in meeting learning or training objectives in navigation, seamanship and ship handling principles.
