Training Instructor III - Radiological Worker Training
Amentum
Reports to a Training Supervisor/Manager and is responsible for the implementation and development of approved technical training materials, with specific focus on the areas of Radiological Worker training. The technical training is provided to qualify personnel for positions in plant operations, maintenance, laboratory, radiological control organization, engineering and/or other technical training.
**This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC**
**MAJOR** **RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS**
Conduct technical training (e.g. classroom and/or on-the-job training), including instruction, exam administration and training effectiveness evaluations:
+ Implement training program to qualify operations, maintenance, laboratory, radiological control, and/or other technical personnel to ensure staff have the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform work safely with competencies commensurate with their responsibilities
+ Support development of technical training material and interface with subject-matter-experts in the Line Organization(s)
+ Coordinate and communicate between the training organization and other line management or support organizations to ensure training needs are identified and met through effective training.
+ Perform observations and assessments to ensure activities are implemented safely and effectively in accordance with approved procedures
+ Support a strong Nuclear Safety Quality Culture (NSQC) by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work, in order to protect self, others, and the environment

**Education/Experience:**
Minimum Requirements per DOE O 426.2:
1. High School (HS) Diploma
AND
2. Must have knowledge and/or expertise consistent with the technical material to be presented.
AND
3. Must have experience as an instructor or have the ability to successfully demonstrate knowledge of instructional techniques through basic instructor training.
**Preferred candidates will have:**
+ At least 8 years technical experience in Radiological Controls or related technical position in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, or Commercial Nuclear Operations
+ Comprehensive Knowledge of 10 CFR 835 - Subpart J _‘Radiation Safety Training’ and_ Chapter 14, _Radiation Safety Training_
+ Comprehensive knowledge of DOE Implementation Guide G441.1-1C _Radiation Protection Programs for Use with Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 835, Occupational Radiation Protection_
+ Comprehensive knowledge of DOE-STD-1098-2017, DOE Standard _, Radiological Control_
+ Experience in technical instruction and performance demonstration evaluation
**PHYSICAL** **REQUIREMENTS**
(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual
Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.
**This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.**
**Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship**
**Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site** .
**COMPENSATION & BENEFITS**
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $101,543.99 - $157,957.21 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
