Training Manager
Work Model: 100% onsite - no option for remote or hybrid. Overview The Training Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive training system that aligns with our operational excellence framework and business objectives. Responsibilities + Primary focus will be identifying training needs, designing, implementing, and verifying training processes and programs while assessing their impact on employee performance and business results. + Purpose is to enhance employee skills, accelerate learning, improve performance including safety, increase productivity, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the organization. + This position will have frequent time on the production floor working directly with leaders, trainers, and trainees. + The primary target group of this position is hourly production personnel and their technical job training. + Identify and assess current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with superintendents/area managers. + Develop training matrixes to align organizational design with skill needs and staffing. + Ensure consistent training methods are used throughout the mill. + Conduct training as warranted including technical training within skills and abilities. + Provide supt., asst. supt., first line supervisor, and “train the trainer” training to ensure training systems are implemented effectively. + Coordinate verification process to ensure knowledge transfer is effective. + Own the implementation, administration, and usage of a learning management system for operational training. + Supervise training coordinators and mentor a “designated trainer” program. + Provide direction to subject matter experts, content writers, and other training resources. + Own the production on-boarding process after initial on-boarding week including coordination of new hire performance evaluations with direct supervisor including supporting hiring process. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred. + 5+ years manufacturing experience, operational leadership positions preferred. + Demonstrated track record in developing others and designing and executing successful training programs. + Excellent communication and leadership skills. + Ability to plan, manage projects, time and budgets effectively. + Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals or other types of media. + Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Word) and learning management systems (LMS) #M1 Ref: #706-IT York System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
