Training Manager – West Plant- Decatur, IL
This is an exempt level position.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating and implementing training and colleague development programs at ADM’s West Plant. The training manager will prepare, coordinate and facilitate training programs for hourly and salaried colleagues and work closely with site and department leaders to assess efficiency, identify continuous improvement opportunities and support process sustainability initiatives.
Job Functions:Responsible for the all of the training programs for the Site, including but not limited to new employee onboarding, qualification training, compliance training, and continuous colleague development training programs.Adheres to and incorporates all safety, quality and site policies and regulations in the development and implementation of training processes and programs.Conduct training needs gap analyses (Loss Driven Deployments) and determine mitigation plans to address and resolve gaps identified in existing training.Support the design and development of training materials and assessments along with learning/certification plans.Deliver learning content for classroom and field training and train/develop colleagues on training processes.Develop and facilitate written performance assessments as well as vital remediation plans.Provide effective feedback and mentoring throughout operator qualification processes.Develop and support a LMS system for maintaining training records and data.Collaborate with teams on analysis of surveys, assessments, field audits and key performance impacts to determine training efficiency.Enhance skills to include alternative adult learning methodologies, delivering one on one coaching and instruction, in the field training, casual small group training, and formal stand up instruction.Utilize plan, do, check, act (PDCA) to achieve continuous improvement.Other similar duties as assigned.Job Qualifications:Five (5) or more years of demonstratable experience in training roles and the development and delivery of employee training programs.Prior experience supporting and facilitating employee training programs in an industrial continuous manufacturing industry is preferred.Ability to establish clear expectations for safety, quality, reliability, service and efficiency.Must be customer focused and be proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization & planning and partnering.Excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills.Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.Excellent interpersonal skills both oral and written.Strong computer skills/proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Visio and PiVision.Experience with photography and video creation is a plus.Experience with Performance Excellence, Total Process Management, Continuous Colleague Development, A2E(Ability to Execute) or similar continuous improvement systems is a plusEducation/Training:Minimum of a high school diploma/GED is required.Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.Working Conditions:Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, dusty or wet environments and various chemicals.Physical Requirements:Ability to ascend and descend stairsAbility to move/transport 55 poundsSit and stand for long periodsWork in confined spacesWork at heightsBending and kneelingBe respirator qualifiedExcited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
