About the role:
We are currently seeking a Training & Safety Superintendent at our Coppabella Moorvale Mine. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for managing site training requirements, implementing and maintaining training systems while providing guidance to both mine site’s personnel to ensure compliance with legislative obligations and requirements of the Safety Health Management System. You will be part of a dynamic team championing a strong health safety and training culture across the sites, embracing the diverse range of tasks that come with managing separate sites. This is an ideal role for an individual whom enjoys end to end ownership of their role and responsibilities.

This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following:
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within the mining industry. Thorough understanding of risk management principles holding the RIIRIS601 (G3) Risk Management qualification, or RIIRIS402 (G2) as a minimum Thorough knowledge of Coal Mining legislation and its application to the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) Extensive knowledge of training and safety management systems, auditing and incident reporting and investigation. RIIWHS601 (G7) desired, along with ICAM Lead required Cert IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or Higher) qualification and S1,2,3 Mining Supervisor competency Demonstrated knowledge relevant to Vocational Education Training methodologies, strategies, principles and legislation. Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications Possess a strong commitment to behavioural safety and cultural change initiatives.
