Training Services Supervisor

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, with a dotted line to the Training Manager, the Training Services Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of training events and special projects. The incumbent will manage, prepare, facilitate, monitor, and conduct small-scale training programs as it relates to new hire training, safety training, and other plant training where applicable. Also, the incumbent is responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating the daily operations of the following service units within the Elmore Plant’s Service departments: + Decontam + Janitorial + Laundry & Respirators + Internal Labor Pool Incumbent plans for the efficient utilization of personnel, equipment and materials to safely and cost effectively produce the scheduled amounts of quality services on time to the internal customers. You will have the opportunity to: + Direct and supervise hourly personnel within the department – Decontam, Janitorial and Laundry. Create and develop an environment with high morale. Interact with all employees directly and through direct reports on a regular basis. Frequent presence on the manufacturing floor. + Deliver training in a classroom setting + Develop new and revise existing training material – including new hire orientation materials + Act as an administrator for a learning management system (LMS) to track/report on training completion + Ensure compliance with established company policies and procedures within the department. + Ensure compliance with all EHS requirements within the department. + Maintain quality standards. + Create, adjust and maintain department and operations schedules. + Schedule and conduct department meetings. + Manage Services budgets and reports to senior management expense control. + Support and participate in Lean Sigma activities for process improvements. + Evaluate and review department employees’ performance within established guidelines. Responsible for evaluating and delivering multiple new hire evaluations for hourly new hires. + Weekend operations support as needed. + Plan and forecast department’s requirements with respect to equipment, manpower, materials to assist Manager with establishing budgets for labor and materials. + In coordination with HR, prepare, schedule, coordinate, monitor, evaluate, document and maintain all New Hire Orientation training and its records. + Deliver and present training on a variety of HR and Safety topics in New Hire Orientation. + Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks. + Deliver and present training on appropriate topics outside of the New Hire Orientation including, but not limited to, Safety topics. + Manage training materials stipulated by regulations. + Choose appropriate training methods per case (simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.). + Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects key performance indicators. Update curriculum as needed. + Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design. + Assist HR in areas of new hire candidate selection process such as facilitating and proctoring testing and interviewing. + Perform other duties as required Requirements: + High school diploma or GED equivalent. + Minimum two years of experience leading others is required. + Experience with instruction or training. + Must be proficient or demonstrate ability to be proficient with computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office including Windows, Power Point, Word and Excel, Visio, e-mail, SAP, UKG, etc.). + Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. + Presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills. + Self-motivated, initiating action without direction. + Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments and project tasks. + The training and Service department personnel areas are one of constant change. This position must be able to react positively and help lead the way forward. + Effectively deliver classroom training, hands-on training, and field training. Ability to translate theory into hands-on training. + Ability to review and approve employee time information in UKG.
