Job Duties
Provide training and education to registration and scheduling staff unsing all applications that pertain to the Patient Access Department, including but not limited to ADS, OneSource, and Paragon.
Provide governmental and commercial insurance training and education to all Patient Access staff to ensure competency in this area.Train employees on regulatory issues e.g., Joint Commission, HIPPA and EMTALA
Ensure and monitor data integrity through report monitoring, user counseling forms and education.
Provides the necessary training/re-training to ensure that the Patient Access staff possesses the knowledge of departmental procedures and regulatory requirements needed to perform their function efficiently. Monitors errors and provides individual support and education as necessary in order to improve performance. Also, leads the train-the-trainer programs.
Assists with testing of any new upgrades associated with Patient Access softwares and workflows.
Maintains, and executes training and in-services schedules. Ensures that staff receives mandatory in-servicing regarding scheduling, registration and insurance issues.
Ensures compliance and recommends any disciplinary actions to the QA and Training manager and/or Department Director.
Participates in the recommendation of Employee Evaluation based on performance and metrics reporting.
Ensures that Schedulers and Registrars are optimizing Resource Scheduling and will work closely with Operations Manager to recommend any necessary changes and/or enhancements.
Orients and trains new employees within Patient Access on required competencies and operations; will rotate on the various shifts to ensure that all staff are compliant with all of the Patient Access Processes and upgrades.
Execute departmental memos that affect users of the registration and scheduling system.
Assist in the developing and organization of procedural manuals and reference tools to ensure consistent, efficient and effective operations with Patient Access.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures, and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.

OTHER JOB DUTIES
Assists with the direction of the department and manages daily operations in the absence of the Manager and director.
Provides coverage in any Patient Access area, as necessary.
Performs other related duties as required.
BASIC COMPETENCIES
Education
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience
Three to five years training and healthcare experience preferred.
Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
