Job Summary of the Training Specialist
This position reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for enhancing employee skills and fostering organizational development through comprehensive training programs at the Axogen Processing Center (APC). The Training Specialist designs and delivers training programs to ensure employees are proficient in their roles and compliant with industry regulations like GMP. This role focuses on creating and implementing effective learning initiatives that boost workplace performance and drive individual and team growth. This includes but is not limited to: partnering with SMEs and qualified trainers on the creation of new training content and revision to existing content, partnering with Quality Assurance to ensure training is delivered and completed compliantly, helping assess the effectiveness of training and needed improvements, and serving as a backup trainer for critical, high demand competencies.
Requirements of the Training Specialist
A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry. Experience in instructional delivery, curriculum and program development, adult learning principles, and human factors is required. Strong facilitation, presentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement Independent decision-making with high initiative Strong oral and written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Well-organized, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple, competing priorities. Technological proficiency with LMS, project management skills, and adaptability Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations (e.g., GMP, cGMP)Responsibilities of the Training Specialist
The specific duties of the Training Specialist include but are not limited to:
Leads training strategy for the APC site, partnering with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, site QA, and Quality Systems to develop, deliver, and monitor training status for all staff. Demonstrates a strong understanding of the roles and responsibilities within the department to effectively oversee training, particularly in areas related to master control content and competency reviews. Ensures training required for the APC site, departments, and job functions are aligned with job descriptions and functions performed Identifies training needs for new hires, existing employees, and specific roles while designing and delivering training programs to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge. Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs, identifies areas for improvement, and creates or updates training to increase performance, safety, and efficiency while maintaining proper compliance with internal and external regulations. Supports root cause investigation, risk assessment, and impact assessment for deviations, CAPAs, and change controls in which training and/or human performance is a potential factor Manages the learning management system for the site in MasterControl, ensuring compliance, maintaining records, and handling administrative tasks Facilitates training sessions, provides on-the-job training, and mentors employees. Ensure training programs adhere to GMP, cGMP, and other regulatory requirements. Salary Range$81,737—$102,171 USDAxogen follows healthcare system guidelines with respect to credentialing, vaccinations and other employment/compliance related requirements, as well as CDC guidance. Axogen reserves the right to amend its policies from time to time in its sole discretion.
