Position Summary/Description:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. If business needs change, an individual employee’s designation may be adjusted with a required minimum of ten (10) business days’ notice unless employee conduct or safety issues necessitate otherwise at the discretion of management.
The Family and Children’s Resource Program ( FCRP ) provides training and technical assistance to the NC Department of Social Services and other human services organizations. The Training Specialist team is primarily responsible for delivering training to the child welfare workforce across the state. We train participants in all 100 county DSS offices annually.
The Training Specialist will report to the Director and will be responsible for development and delivery of curricula and instructional programs (both in person, classroom and in an online environment) with a focus on topics relevant to child welfare and human services.
In addition, this position will support other deliverables on a variety of projects with other community organizations. These services include facilitation of large and small groups, writing for publications, providing training, technical assistance, and implementation support.
Education and Experience:
+ Master’s in Social Work or related field preferred
+ Familiarity with child welfare and other human services systems in North Carolina
+ Comfortable with delivering training in person and online using a variety of platforms
+ Experience in academic research and writing (publications, online etc.)
+ Experience facilitating large group processes and coaching for practice improvement
+ Microsoft office, adobe creative suite, articulate storyline
Essential Skills:
+ Candidates must have demonstrated experience training both in person and online
+ Candidates must have demonstrated experience in curriculum development and writing
+ Ability to travel to regional training sites is required
+ Ability to work autonomously and under broad direction with considerable latitude is expected
