Summary This job opportunity is for an TRAINING TECHNICIAN, position description D2702000, within the 108th FSS of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of this position is to schedule all formal initial skill, refresher and proficiency training for both officer and enlisted members, which include providing staff planning and multi-level assistance to ensure that required military training objectives are achieved. Responsibilities As an TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-9, you will: Verifies member eligibility, course availability, and validates school orders, travel orders, PCS procedures, and pre-requisites are properly complied with in-accordance with National Guard Bureau (NGB) guidance. Manages formal schools training budget, to include all formal schools and Mission Essential Skills Training (MEST). Serves as resource advisor for budget of formal school workdays and travel resources. Assists in all aspects of Education, Training and Distance Learning Programs. Provides education and training advisory services to commanders and staff on all education and training programs. Assists with the development of education and training instructional products. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Requirements Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications General Experience: Must have a minimum of 12 months experience in the following: Understanding basic principles and concepts Performing or learning to perform the duties of the position Following directions, reading, understanding, and retaining a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures Specialized Experience: Must have at least 12 months experience equivalent to the GS-07. Organizing and preparing instructional materials Conducting assistance visits and training meetings Understanding and applying formal training objectives Conducting, supervising, or developing education or training programs Determining the instructional methods for class size and subject matter Training program management; scheduling training events and facilities Developing course syllabi, training project outlines, and daily and weekly lesson plans Instructing students by lectures, discussions, demonstrations, group activities, and laboratory work Identifying and conducting individual learning difficulties diagnoses and recommends courses of remedial instruction Education There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement Additional Information Security Clearance Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
