The anticipated salary range for this role is between $143,000.00 and $185,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees. **Role Description** Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is seeking a detailed-oriented Vice President to oversee the closing process for the Structured Finance Solutions business units. This role collaborates with key internal stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Legal, Capital Markets, and Operations, alongside external Agents and Borrowers to ensure seamless execution of transactions. This position is operationally focused but sits within the front office Credit Product Management team. The ideal candidate will be the primary point of contact for managing deal closings across Project Finance and Corporate Finance transactions in North America and Latin America for the Specialized Finance Department, Americas Division (“SDAD”). **Job Responsibilities** + Primary function is to lead the deal closing process ensuring successful execution and funding for bilateral, club and syndicated transactions. + Coordinate pre-closing requirements with internal and external teams, proactively addressing outstanding items to meet scheduled closing deadlines. + Ensure proper registration of transactions within SMBC’s credit system. + Serve as the primary liaison with sponsors, borrowers, agent banks, counsel, and loan operations. + Proactively facilitate the resolution of outstanding items with the deal origination team to meet the scheduled closing date. + Collaborate with the KYC Client Management team to ensure full onboarding of entities before closing. + Periodically requestpost-closing deliverables from external parties. + Support the Team Leadon high-level projects and initiatives. + Mentor and train junior staff, fostering a high-performance culture in a fast-paced, market-driven environment. **Qualifications and Skills** + Bachelor’s degree with 5-7+ years of relevant experience in deal execution including the ability to coordinate across Capital Markets, Credit, KYC and Operations. + Deep understanding of lending products and related credit documentation. + Strong decision-making skills with the ability to identify, escalate and resolve complex issues. + Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities under tight deadlines. + Strong attention to detail with excellent communicationand collaboration skills. + Proficiency in senior loan financings, project finance transactions, and related credit agreement terms. + Willingness to learn and master SMBC’s proprietary systems. + Spanish fluency (written and verbal) a plus.
