Purpose of Role

The Transactional Finance Specialist is responsible to provide, complete, analyse & review transactional finance information as part of the European Finance Shared Services Team for Cognizant offices across Continental Europe,

The Transactional Finance Specialist will communicate regularly with people from different countries and cultures at all levels (Finance Onsite, Stock Admin, Tax, Internal audit). The position provides a great opportunity to understand how the company works and what it does. Candidates for this role would be expected to move into another function within the company about 3 years of joining and to further their career in a specific financial or business field.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Journal preparation, review & entry Act as the initial point of contact for all escalations Preparation & review of balance sheet Preparation & review of Intercompany and bank reconciliations. Investigation of any mismatches Preparation & review of monthly/quarterly VAT returns Maintain working relationships with KBP ( Finance Onsite, Stock Admin, Tax, Internal audit) Assist with training new staff members Provide cover for the Finance Manager when required Arrange meetings with relevant teams to resolve ongoing queries Help Collate data for internal/external audit Be the central point of contact for all European audit queries Ad hoc duties and special projects as requested by management

Functional Prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance At least 2-year experience within a financial environment (preferably a multinational environment) Language skills: Fluent written and spoken English & Hungarian is essential. German & French is a big plus Computer Literate, especially Microsoft platforms & focus on Excel Understanding of accepted accounting practices and principles
