Position Description:
Infinite Electronics Inc., a global supplier of electronics components and subassemblies, is seeking to fill a Product Engineer position This position is responsible for developing and qualifying new products as well as maintaining technical support for current products, this includes working with vendors to make sure products meet and maintain our technical requirements. The qualified individual should have proven experience in Fiber Optics Transceivers. The Product Engineer will deliver high-quality services to Integra Optics customers providing technical and solution-oriented support. This position reports to the Engineer Supervisor.
Infinite Electronics’ brands include Pasternack, Fairview Microwave, L-Com Global Connectivity, MilesTek, Aiconics, Polyphaser, Transtector, Integra Optics and Show Me Cables, and NavePoint.
This is the opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Product Development Engineer to contribute to the growth of the Fiber Optics transceiver business and have a strong impact. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Develop and ready for market Fiber Optic Transceivers for multiple business markets
+ Assist the Product Development team in development of new non-transceiver products
+ Support sales for technical questions on customer calls and site visits
+ Stay current with new technologies in the Fiber Optics industry
+ Work with customers on project-oriented solutions
+ Develop and qualify new transceiver products
+ Create and maintain technical requirement document for customer and vendor
+ Troubleshoot transceiver product issues and work with the vendors to resolve them
+ Create transceiver coding bin files and maintain the product database
+ Develop a strong relationship with sales team to increase support for key customers
+ Lab maintenance and development plan to support new product development
+ Participate with the Engineering team in identifying area for improvements and standardization
+ Support Engineering data sheet creation and maintenance process
+ Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to illustrate operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations for consideration by engineers in broader determinations affecting product design and laboratory procedures
Key Requirements
+ AA / AS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
+ 5 years minimum experience in configuring Fiber Optic transceivers, including OEM platform requirements
+ 10 years minimum experience with networking platforms: Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Nokia/Alcatel
+ Experience using electronic test equipment
+ Customer facing technical and/or sales support experience
+ Microcontroller programming
+ Experience with printed circuit boards
+ Read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions
+ Knowledge of essential computer systems
+ Mechanical and electrical aptitude
Preferred Requirements
+ BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
+ Datacom network experience, with network certification (CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, etc.) an asset
+ PON experience

Physical Job Requirements:
+ Sitting: Must be able to sit for a minimum of 4 hours
+ Walking: Throughout the facility on a continuous basis
+ Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
+ Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
+ Vision: Corrected 20/20 vision required
+ Talking/Hearing: Must be able to communicate on the telephone.
