Key Role Aspects

The Transfer Pricing Compliance Lead will be tasked with formulating and executing a comprehensive technology strategy specifically tailored for transfer pricing compliance.

This involves a proactive approach to identifying and evaluating effective technology solutions (including how we use our existing BDO technology stack) that can automate and significantly scale the production of transfer pricing documentation. A critical aspect of this responsibility is ensuring that all technology initiatives are strategically aligned with the overarching business objectives and the firm’s broader tax strategy.

This requires a forward-thinking perspective, looking beyond immediate compliance requirements to maximise the long-term value derived from investments in transfer pricing technology. The role holder will need to champion a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that BDO remains at the forefront of leveraging technology to enhance its transfer pricing compliance framework.

The Transfer Pricing Compliance Lead will oversee the technology-driven processes for generating critical transfer pricing documentation, including Master Files, Local Files, and Country-by-Country Reports (CbCR).

A key objective is to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and overall completeness of all transfer pricing documentation produced through the implemented technological solutions. This necessitates a deep understanding of global transfer pricing regulations and the ability to ensure that the chosen technology solutions are continuously adapted to reflect any changes or updates in these regulations.

A significant aspect of this role involves developing and implementing technology solutions that effectively integrate transfer pricing policies into the company's routine financial and accounting operations, commonly referred to as Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP).

This integration is crucial to ensure that the transfer prices established in our clients’ policies, reflected in documentation, are accurately and consistently reflected in their legal entity financial statements and intercompany transactions.

Optimising data flows, enhancing process efficiency and establishing effective controls through the strategic application of technology will be a core focus in bridging the gap between transfer pricing policies and their practical implementation within our client organisations.

This role will be a combination of strategic capability development, and delivery of quality client service using these tools and methodologies.

We’re looking for someone with:

Strong understanding of and previous experience within transfer pricing tax

Excellent knowledge of recent key updates and areas of focus in the area of UK transfer pricing tax

Specialist knowledge and the ability to deal with complex tax issues arising within transfer pricing

Strong UK Transfer Pricing experience

Ability to manage a substantial portfolio profitably

Ability actively seeks opportunities for selling new services to existing clients

Experience of dealing with client senior management and key stakeholders

Experience of managing staff

Educated to degree level, and CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent
