Transfer Pricing Senior Analyst

We welcome internal candidates with some analytical experience and limited to no experience in tax or transfer pricing on the merits of the unique perspective internal candidates bring with respect to knowledge of business, financial systems, internal processes, and existing relationships with key stakeholders, as well as external candidates with limited experience in transfer pricing but with relevant experience in tax, statutory accounting, audit or related fields.

About the role
The RELX Tax Department provides transfer pricing advice and support to all market segments of RELX. The Senior Analyst Transfer Pricing will be a key member of the Tax team and an integral part of the core transfer pricing documentation and compliance program within the RELX Transfer Pricing Team.

The Senior Analyst Transfer Pricing should be comfortable directly liaising with various business teams within RELX. This role offers exposure to team members across the Global Tax and Finance teams within all RELX business units worldwide. Opportunities to develop knowledge in various tax specialisms and technology tools are available.
 

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, including bench-marking reviews and assisting with the CBCR process. Support the preparation and review of inter-company agreements.

Provide ad hoc support to stakeholders engaged in audits and controversy-related activities, such as collecting, gathering, and analysing historical information, preparation of audit defense support, etc.

Develop process improvement initiatives in transfer pricing operations and compliance.

Support the wider transfer pricing team on various projects.

Main accountability and tasks

Lead the process for TP compliance such as:

Prepare transfer pricing contemporaneous documentation reports, including developing and maintaining local and country-specific versions of master files, ensuring the accuracy of business and transaction descriptions, collecting audit readiness data and evidence, working with various finance members across the business.

Work with outside providers on benchmarking review as applicable.  

Input into intercompany dealing schedules for certain local jurisdictions. 

Review and update of historical functional analysis in alignment with the current development of the business and demonstrate the ability to identify the main value drivers in a business, understand the risks in the business, and contribute to risk allocation and to the DEMPE analysis in relation to intangibles.

Work with financial management, monitor intercompany transactions.

Work closely with other RELX tax teams for work such as preparation of intercompany specific elements of the anti-hybrid report, US BEAT, or other country-specific required analyses.

Assist with the preparation and updates of internal transfer pricing provisions, and corporate recharges computations.

Requirements

Relevant experience in transfer pricing, tax, statutory accounting, financial analyst or related fields.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word. Knowledge of Alteryx and PowerApps is a plus.
