Location: Binghamton, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Wed Oct 23 2024 Job Description: Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3) Salary: $55,151 (full-time, temporary) The Transfer Table Maintenance Specialist manages and maintains the institution's transfer credit tables, ensuring that academic credits from external institutions are accurately recorded and processed. This position involves regular updates to transfer databases, reviewing course equivalencies, and supporting the transfer credit evaluation process. The specialist works closely with academic departments, academic advising, registrar, and IT teams to ensure that transfer information is accurate, accessible, and up-to-date, contributing to the seamless transfer of students and their credits. Key Responsibilities: + Maintain and update transfer credit tables within the institution's student information system, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current course equivalencies + Work closely with academic departments to verify and confirm appropriate course matches between the home institution and external schools + Ensure data integrity in transfer systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies in transfer tables + Collaborate with the registrar's office, admissions, and academic advisors to ensure smooth transfer credit evaluations and proper application of credits to student records + Assist in the creation and revision of articulation agreements with partner institutions + Regularly audit and monitor transfer credit tables to ensure compliance with institutional policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards + Provide technical support and training for staff and faculty on how to use transfer credit systems and tables + Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the transfer credit systems and databases + Stay current with changes in transfer credit policies, academic curriculum, and course equivalencies at both the home institution and external institutions + Generate reports on transfer credit trends, student success rates, and system performance to support decision-making Job Requirements: + Bachelor's degree + 1-2 years of experience working with student information systems, preferably in a registrar's office or related department + Familiarity with transfer credit processes, articulation agreements, and academic curriculum structures + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management + Proficiency in using student information systems and transfer credit evaluation software (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar) + Strong organizational and problem-solving skills + Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams + Excellent communication skills for working with faculty, staff, and external institutions Visa sponsorship is not available for this position Additional Information: Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and verification of degree(s) and credentials.
