Job Description:

The Transformation Management Director drives the strategic delivery of business outcomes for various initiatives under the Business Transformation Office (BTO).  The role reports to Chief Portfolio and Program Management Officer.

For the open position, the incumbent will drive a complex multi-year strategic initiative impacting critical business processes.

1. Develop integrated plan with internal and external parties, including definition of necessary governance structure and delivery methodology across workstreams.

2. Execute the modernization program and provide delivery certainty for all workstreams
3. Deliver agreed plans and manage dependencies across Sun Life teams and 3rd party vendors.

4. Actively manage Sun Life and vendor resources, calling out and addressing gaps on capacity and capability

5. Facilitate vendor management including sourcing, negotiation, onboarding, and performance management

6. Track and report progress (scope, budget, schedule, risks, issues, resources) per the requirements of Sun Life governance bodies and as required by PH, Asia, and Global leadership teams.

7. Update and maintain the business case; track and report benefits for completed scope.

8. Oversee Quality Assurance and Change Management activities to ensure acceptance and readiness of business units to adopt new system and features.

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess technical project management skills, leadership capabilities, and strategic and business domain expertise.

Minimum 10 years of experience in a portfolio, program or project manager role, at least 5 of which in successfully driving large-scale transformation initiativesExpertise on PM and Agile principles, tools, and industry best-practices required. PMP, CSM certification preferred but not required.Familiarity with the nuances of a transformation program and business transformation trends (programs, platforms, processes, people, and partnerships)Knowledge of the insurance business and its multiple functions; alternatively, an immersive understanding of Operations and TechnologySkilled in leveraging data to define, measure and track outcomes; Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other improvement methodologies will be an advantageExcellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and foster effective collaboration among leaders and cross-functional teamsStrong people management with ability to mentor, motivate, and inspireStrong sense of urgency and flexibility to steer the portfolio with changes in business direction Experience in driving complex implementation of new technologies replacing legacy systems, with line of sight on minimizing business disruptions and maximizing benefits
