The EAM Team is responsible for overseeing the software (Hexagon EAM) that manages the lifecycle of our assets, from procurement to maintenance & repair, to the eventual retirement of those assets, including subway cars, track, signals, and all other infrastructure included in the system. Our team has been successful in reducing operational downtime, reducing costs, increasing operational efficiency, improving safety, ensuring compliance, improving data integrity, and providing useful, real-time analytics to senior management for improved decision-making. Our vision is to become the industry leader in Enterprise Asset Management and Maintenance Management. The EAM Data Analytics team is responsible for extracting actionable information from the asset maintenance data (think defects, repairs, costs, labor productivity). These insights usually are delivered through dashboards and are consumed by a variety of audiences including the Department of Subways leadership. Most of our standardized data lives in databases and the MTA Data Lake. Our team is outcome-focused, and tool-agnostic. However, if selected, you'll find us using BI tools (mainly PowerBI, occasionally Mode), Python/SQL for data analysis & transformation, and Airflow for data orchestration. Responsibilities: + Analyze large datasets and develop self-serving dashboards & visualization tools for different stakeholders + Improve reliability of our analytical products - primarily data pipelines, datasets and dashboards + Write code to clean, combine and transform data generated from business operations + Other tasks as assigned to achieve the goals of the team Required Skills & Education: + Master’s degree in a relevant field (including, but not limited to Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Business Administration + At least two (2) years of relevant work experience + Note: Undergraduate degrees with at least four (4) years’ work experience, with relevant skills and training may also be considered + Demonstrated experience in manipulating and analyzing large datasets using any statistical package(in R/Python) and SQL. Our agency data stack comprises of PySpark, SQL (we use Trino & OracleSQL on our group) and PowerBI/Mode for visualizations. If you're interested to know more about our data stack, this blog from the MTA Data Engineering team would be helpful - How we build analytics at scale at the MTA (https://www.mta.info/article/how-we-build-analytics-scale-mta) . + Knowledge of any cloud ecosystem (Azure, GCP or AWS) and distributed analytics framework (Spark/Flink/Sedona) + Ability to leverage all these tools and technologies to deliver clear, actionable insights that have a measurable ROI + Excellent oral and written communication skills Desired Skills: + Experience with statistical analysis techniques such as time-series analysis, regression analysis + Understanding of data modeling and database structures + Knowledge & appreciation of New York City Transit system + Previous project experience related to public transportation or urban infrastructure systems + Knowledge of Hexagon EAM Education and Experience: Assistant Transit Management Analyst I-II: + A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or + A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above. Associate Transit Management Analyst: + A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two (2) years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One (1) year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or + A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three (3) years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One (1) year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry. Selection Method: Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview. All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MaBSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
