HDR is currently looking for a companywide Transit Planning Practice Leader to complement our growing Transportation Planning Business Class and Transit Market Sector. It’s all done in concert with our tailored approach to planning that precisely answers each client’s vision and goals.

In the role of Transit Planning Practice Leader, we’ll count on you to:

Take responsibility for companywide development, coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of transit planning staff and products to meet client needs and market driversCollaborate with Transit Planning Practice Group members to elevate our transit planning practice and develop staff involved with policy, systems planning, corridor planning and development, operations and safety, funding, and associated aspects of all transit modes (paratransit, fixed route, demand response, express bus, bus rapid transit, light rail, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail, etc.)Work with other practice leaders to develop transformative ideas that will enable clients to take advantage of emerging transportation trends (automated-connected-electric-shared vehicles, micro-transit, micro-mobility, big data, etc.) and future-proof investments; and also allow HDR to maintain thought leadership position in the industry. Actively drive open communication with the Practice Group members regarding current/projected production needs; and collaborate with areas to influence staffing and expertise levelsIdentify market opportunities in close coordination with Area Business Development Leaders and develop winning pursuit strategies. Also assist with local and national pursuits. Identify industry talent and work with Area and Corporate leadership to attract and retain staffOversee delivery of project services and deliverables to meet client expectationsMaintain standards for quality and consistency of service brandMaintain qualification packages and staff skills matrix that can be readily utilized for project pursuits. Assist with the development of marketing materials including proposals. Lead workshare communications that result in technical excellence and enhanced utilizationsAdvocate for professional development of staff and development of production tools: best practices, technical policies and procedures, papers and presentations, Professional Associates credentialing, recognition of technical achievement, practice group activities, and automation toolsServe as a project manager for major transit projects and leverage HDR’s global expertise to deliver quality work on time, while meeting or exceeding client expectationsDevelop client relationships in close coordination with Area Business Development Leaders and local transit planning staffRepresent HDR at state and national level professional organizationsAct as role model of our values and code of conduct, as well as professional/ethical/business standards expected by specific clients and required by licensing/credentialing entitiesPerform other duties as neededRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field10 years experience in related field Maintains a professional or Engineering registration and has related technical experienceExperienced in development and management of diverse teamsWorks cooperatively with other business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class effortsCommitted to quality, improvement and HDR valuesAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. California: $161,623 - $272,870 ; Colorado: $161,623 - $230,890 ; Hawaii: $154,277 - $220,395 ; Maryland: $154,277 - $220,395; Montana: $132,270 - $188,910 ; Nevada: $146,930 - $209,900; New York: $183,663 - $262,375; Ohio: $146,930 - $209,900; Washington: $139,584 - $241,385; British Columbia: $143,546 - $205,065.
