Job Brief

The purpose of this position is to load and offload railcars of AN products into dome, tanks, or trucks.

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for loading product on Commercial trucks. You will offload product from rail cars into site storage facilities. The transloader may operate a front-end loader, and will interacts with truck drivers as needed. Other duties will include:

Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations

Safe and efficient operation of equipment for the purposed of loading and unloading of products

Actively use and promote the Take5 and other safety programs/initiatives.

Ensure compliance with daily processing requirements

Offload product from railcars into trucks, tanks, or into dome; may operate a front-end loader, interacts as needed with truck drivers. Inspect trucks for condition prior to loading.

May operate a track mobile to move railcars in preparation for cleaning and then loading.  Responsible for the inspection of railcars, will make impromptu repairs to railcars.  Moves empty and loaded railcars.

Responsible for the inspection and care of loading equipment. Fuels and maintains oil and grease on  front-end loader, dump truck, conveyors, elevators, fork lift .

Weekly and monthly rotation, equipment checks, preventative maintenance checks

Sweep and/or shovel spilled product. Will take steps to minimize product spillage.

Operates prill handling and transfer equipment, forklift, front end loader, dump truck.

Checks and maintains lubrication bucket elevator, and other operating equipment.

Notify Supervisor to request repairs/improvements.

Makes entries to Operator Logbooks and communicates operating conditions to his/her relief.

Cooperates and works with other plant operators, employees, and Manager.

Maintains good housekeeping in assigned area.

Participate in 5-S events, Take 5 reporting, SAO

Other duties as assigned.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Experience

Forklift experience or training preferredPrior transloading experience is an assetPositive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player

Technical:

Ability to read and comprehend technical data.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Ability to wear and care for applicable personal protective equipment (such as, safety glasses and shoes, hard hat and ear protection, safety harness) as required by site specific requirements.

Ability to work rotating shifts

Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions, 20% inside and 80% outside.

Ability to lift10-50 lbs. on a daily basis

Ability to push or pull 40-50 lbs on an hourly basis for 3-5 ft.

Ability to bend or squat on an hourly basis for opening of railcars.
