Transmission Business Development Analyst (Senior - Staff)
**Job Posting End Date** 06-26-2025 Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date. **Job Summary** Responsible for performing complex strategic analysis for the transmission business development and joint venture team including: researching and performing competitive and market analysis, evaluating new business models, performing financial analysis and modeling, supporting business responsibilities associated with current and potential future strategic investments, supporting development of annual business plans, strategic recommendations, business tactics, operational and financial improvement, and preparation of management presentations. Overall purpose of this broad role is to support the transmission business development and joint venture team to enhance shareholder value through coordinating execution plans for growth opportunities, implementing processes to invest and manage risk, coordinating multi-disciplinary groups (i.e., operating companies, commercial teams, planning, regulatory, communications, accounting, tax, finance, etc.) for development requirements and goals. *Position will be in office full-time (Central Ohio)* **Job Description** **What You'll Do:** + Lead, facilitate and formulate research strategies to complete complex strategic objectives, financial reporting, analysis, and fundamentals. + Lead complex market research and analysis to support work plans, including evaluation of new and developing business models, market rules and policies, and regulations. + Display expertise in researching, developing and communicating strategic concepts, work plans and progress reports for management. + Lead and facilitate communication and issue resolution between AEP's corporate departments, operating companies, transmission and distribution organizations, and project groups. + Demonstrate flexibility with respect to assigned tasks and engagements due to changing deadlines, changing priorities and evolving deadlines. + Support other corporate development and activities as defined across business units which require integration of cross functional work streams. + Provide support, guidance and leadership to other Analysts. + Primarily focus on the development of competitive-regulated electric transmission infrastructure bids in an effort to drive growth both within and beyond the AEP footprint. + Work with internal stakeholders to support the policy, regulatory, finance, and budgeting responsibilities of the business unit and these initiatives. + Participate as assigned in the development of Transource competitive proposals by supporting input and activities of transmission planning, engineering, procurement, project management, operations, maintenance, compliance, cost estimation, regulatory and financing. + Provide detailed financial and market analysis related to the development of strategic initiatives, benchmarks and maintaining measurements of the organization's performance with both utility and non-utility competitors. + Prepare and conduct presentations, reports, talking points, and summaries in support of competitive transmission development and advocacy efforts. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the transmission organization, and with internal and external customers. + Provide support to various strategic teams and programs. + Lead and oversee work of other members of the team. **What We're Looking For:** **Please note - We're considering a range of 3 levels (below) for these 2 open positions** **Analyst Senior (grade 7)** ($85,081 - $106,354) Education: + Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, engineering or related field. Experience: + Minimum of three years of electric utility or related experience in business development, corporate strategy, energy marketing, financial analysis, asset management and development. **Analyst Principal (grade 8)** ($96,110 - $124,941) Education: + Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, engineering or related field. Experience: + Minimum of five years of electric utility or related experience in business development, corporate strategy, energy marketing, financial analysis, asset management and development. **Analyst Staff (grade 9)** ($112,869 - $146,730) Education: + Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, engineering or related field. Graduate degree preferred. Experience: + Minimum of seven years of electric utility or related experience in business development, corporate strategy, energy marketing, financial analysis, asset management and development. **Other Must Haves:** + **Demonstrated experience working in cross functional teams, working on new business proposals, understanding cost and revenue structures, performing financial analysis will be a positive differentiator.** + Strong oral and written communication skills. + Strong analytical and financial skills Detail oriented. + Strong computer skills including presentation software and Excel Must possess perceptive market evaluation skills. + Sense of commercial urgency and achievement. + The individual must possess the ability to keep commercially sensitive items confidential. + Must possess strong business acumen. + Individual must possess a positive attitude, be a self-starter and work well in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment. **Compensation Data** **Compensation Grade:** SP20-009 **Compensation Range:** $112,869.00-146,730.50 USD The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
