**WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE, & TRAVEL**
+ This position is flexible to be located in either Birmingham, AL or Forest Park, GA (Metro Atlanta).
+ Hybrid work schedule (both in-office and telecommute); currently three (3) days in-office and two (2) days telecommute (subject to adjustment).
+ Relocation assistance may be provided if the successful candidate does not currently live within a reasonable commute distance.
+ This position will require minimal travel (less than 25%).
**POSITION SUMMARY**
The Transmission Engineer/Analyst is responsible for facilitating Project Closeout processes in support of the Operating Company's transmission capital project program. This position will be responsible for coordinating their efforts among multiple organizations including, but not limited to, Transmission Engineering, Supply Chain, Property Accounting, Project Management, Construction, and/or Compliance.
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Create a safe work environment through personal commitment to safety.
+ Manage the capital project closeout process on behalf of the Transmission Engineering organization in adherence to the Transmission Capital Project Closeout management procedure. This includes:
+ Closing capital projects.
+ Researching and resolving variances between actuals and estimates.
+ Tracking capital project closeout status.
+ Providing business reports and maintaining proper documentation.
+ Develop and leverage customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders involved in the design and construction of transmission line/substation/civil projects.
+ Serve as the Transmission Engineering Subject Matter Expert on FERC and Property Record Accounting
**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
**_Education:_**
+ Two-year Degree and/or significant related work experience is required
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering or Engineering Technology is preferred
**_Experience:_**
+ Prior experience managing distribution or transmission capital projects is preferred
+ Prior experience in distribution or transmission property accounting is preferred
+ Prior experience in transmission line/substation/civil design and/or construction is preferred
**_Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:_**
+ General knowledge of transmission planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance
+ General knowledge of Operating Company processes, procedures and tools used in the development and construction of transmission line/substation/civil projects
+ Working knowledge of the Operating Company process and procedures for managing the transmission capital budget
+ Working knowledge of the SCST D&MS design standards and materials used in the construction of transmission line/substation/civil projects
+ Detailed knowledge of the Operating Company and SCST D&MS processes, procedures and tools used to create, revise and close general work orders
+ Detailed knowledge of all applicable FERC and company accounting policies
+ Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products with the ability to manage and analyze large sets of transaction data
+ Demonstrated proficiency in transmission software applications currently used to create, revise, research and close transmission line/substation/civil capital projects
+ Time management and organizational skills sufficient to manage multiple projects with various priorities and competing deadlines
+ Exhibits strong problem solving, analytical, oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to establish and maintain peer and customer relationships across organizational lines
+ Proven ability to build consensus and achieve results through the effective use of persuasive communication and formal presentation skills
