Job Title: Transmission Line Analyst
Job Description

This position is responsible for providing project scoping, estimating, and conceptual design services in support of Transmission Line projects. You will work with a small team of experienced Transmission employees to handle estimates and pre-design steps/documentation, assisting Line Design and Civil Design, primarily with Substations. The focus will be on working with the Head Estimator to develop timely and accurate estimates for Transmission Line projects. Estimates are done using in-house software and on-the-fly labor calculations using a specific spreadsheet. Significant estimating experience and/or work in Transmission Lines is required, with a willingness to learn any less proficient areas.

ResponsibilitiesProvide project scoping, estimating, and conceptual design services for Transmission Line projects.Collaborate with a small team of experienced Transmission employees to handle estimates and pre-design documentation.Assist Line Design and Civil Design teams, primarily with Substations.Develop timely and accurate estimates in collaboration with the Head Estimator.Utilize in-house software and specific spreadsheets for labor calculations.Essential SkillsSignificant estimating experience in Transmission Lines.Experience in Transmission Line Design, Estimating, and Design.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Experience with estimating software.Knowledge of Transmission Planning and civil site construction development and operations maintenance.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.Ability to manage multiple projects with various priorities and deadlines.Ability to establish and maintain peer/customer relationships across organizational lines.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Transmission Line Design and product knowledge.Experience in Substation Construction cost estimation.Familiarity with project management and forecasting tools such as Primavera.Experience with utility distribution and construction.Experience with TEAMS or similar programs.Work Environment

This position will be based out of the Alabama Power Corporate Headquarters building and office/engineering environment. Given the current conditions, there is a possibility for remote work on a temporary basis, with a transition back to the corporate office as the company moves through phased re-openings. There may be an option for a flexible schedule that rotates total hours for the week between 36 and 44 hours. The dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
