**Transmission Operations Summer Intern – 2025**
Tri-State is an electric power utility providing electricity to rural electric cooperatives. We have a Transmission Operations Summer Intern opportunity for 2025. Students who have successfully completed two (2) to three (3) years of undergraduate study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply. Seniors who will be graduating in December or are planning to attend graduate school in the Fall are also encouraged to apply.
**This summer position offers students hands on opportunity to work alongside System Operations team to manage real-time grid operations, including tasks such as contingency analysis, renewable project integration, reliability studies, and energy policy reviews.**
**Responsibilities:** Under supervision, the intern will be supporting Dispatchers and Grid Operation Specialists. They will be reviewing procedures and working with multiple databases. The intern will also be scripting, database gathering, and tuning engineering tools.
**Projects may include the following:**
+ FERC order 881 Implementation
+ Transmission lines and transformers database validation
**Job Requirements:**
+ Basic knowledge of power systems and circuit analysis
**Duration and Work Schedule**
+ The duration of the summer internship will be from about the end of May until the end of August.
+ The work schedule includes Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 7:00am to 4:00pm, or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., forty hours per week.
